March 17, 2020 : it is the stupefaction in France caused by the confinement. As a documentary photographer, the dynamics of my work came to an abrupt halt. I live in Paris in the 17th arrondissement and my photographic horizon was suddenly reduced – or rather opened up – to the sole possibility of moving around within a radius of one kilometre of my home.

I discovered my daily life in a new light with this diffuse threat, these lost glances, these masks, this reality that had become staggering.

A coming and going was taking place between the intimacy of my family life and the existence downstairs, with this something in the air…

It was in this state of mind that I started a daily correspondence with a friend from Ardèche, during the time of confinement.
He writes about my photographs. I capture images from his texts. Our poetic worlds cross and respond spontaneously, in the urgency of creation.
