L’espace du taxi, lieu clos et impersonnel, m’offre un cadre identique où seules les personnes changent au hasard des itinéraires. Assise à côté du chauffeur, je tente de capter du sujet une présence naturelle au plus prés de son intériorité.
La position des clients sur la banquette-arrière, les lumières de la ville la nuit, la mélancolie d’un regard perdu, le lâcher prise seul ou à plusieurs, toutes les nuances émotionnelles de ce qui se jouent le temps d’une course où l’on se laisse guider par le chauffeur racontent un bout d’histoire de mes contemporains, un fragment d’humanité à la fois unique et universel.

The space of the taxi, a closed and impersonal place, offers me an identical setting where only the people change at random. Sitting next to the driver, I try to capture the subject’s natural presence as close as possible to his interiority.
The position of the clients on the back seat, the lights of the city at night, the melancholy of a lost look, the letting go alone or with others, all the emotional nuances of what is played out during a journey where one lets oneself be guided by the driver tell a piece of the history of my contemporaries, a fragment of humanity that is both unique and universal.
